I'm looking for a source for a replacement window shade used in many LQ interiors. It is the folded fabric type that has a vertical string on each side going to posts mounted on the wall. It can be raised or lowered and when working, will stay in any height you select.

The shade itself is intact, but one string and mounting post are broken, and it will not remain in a raised position.

My interior is a Sierra. E-mails to Exiss and Sierra have gone unanswered.

Any ideas? Thank you

rvsurplus.net should be able to help you, they will need the color(of shade), width, and height of the window. If they can't help any RV store can with the above info.

You'll be surprized at the replacement cost  $$$

I've broken a string in a similar shade.  I was able to replace the string easily enough.  You will have to take the shade off the wall mounting and untie the string at the bottom posts.  Gather up the shade and thread the new string through the shade and across the bottom bar. Use the intact string as a guide and mirror image it.   The hardest part will be finding the same type of string to use.  You might try looking at braided nylon fishing line or a sewing materials store.

One more thing ... The string tension on the posts determines the resistance to movement.  A lot of tension keeps the shade in place but wears the strings.  I put just enough tension on the string to hold the shade position in use.  But, it droops a bit when trying to store it full up.  I just use a rubber band for long term storage.

Although they have not responded to your email, try calling Sierra and speak to the warranty department - 800-727-0638. I have a Sierra interior in my Elite and they have been great to me over the years. Although your shade might not be covered under warranty, at least they might be able to get you a replacement.

I am in need of the part that the string is tied or wrapped to. the plastic has cracked and doesn't hold the string tight so the shade tends to sag. It almost looks like a giant push pin. Does anyone know where I could get this piece? Thanks!

Try an RV store or Camping World. Good luck! Raven
