Does anyone have information on the OEM air ride system from Sundowner? I purchased a factory fitting/plumbing kit with the intention to convert our 8012 and am looking for a system schematic. Did SD use the the Dexter Airflex axles? I will use one of the kits I purchased to set up auto height assist bags on my truck, and the other on the trailer. Both kits have dual height valves. I have researched general systems and have a basic understanding of air suspension system design, but the SD kit has a couple extra pilot valves in addition to the Haldex height valves. IT\t appears that SD used the height valve to control a pilot valve to the axle bags. A SD system schematic would really help.Thank youJon

You may be able to get some help from the factory. 800-654-3879. Have your last 6 of VIN to get any details on your trailer. Sundowner has used several different air ride systems through the years, so I don't suppose there is one schematic available.

Thank you for the reply. My trailer is a 2000, but I don't know the year of the fitting kit I picked up. The air tank has a proof date of 2008. Being an Engineer and fabricator I plan to build the system I was just wondering about the logic they use for the air supply. I have already emailed the factory with no reply.

Back in that era, we saw Kelderman, Unique, and STI systems on the new Sundowners with air ride through our shop. My guess would be it was plumbed based on the plan from the suspension manufacturer. I would think you may get more data from that route.

Thank you. Were you referring to the 2008 year of the air kits?
I will check the packlist in the fitting kits to see if I can identify the source. I have already reviewed information on all 3 of those sources, and will look at their schematics again. The pilot valves may have something to do with the manual dump valve setup included in the kits.
