http://www.jcwhitney.com/shade-maker-rope-and-pole-awning-universal... anyone installed one of these on their trailer? A LOT cheaper than a roll up awning. Was it difficult? How much of a pain in the patoot is it to put on every time you want to use it?

I had one on a pop-up camper, it wasn't bad except it usually took 2 people to get it pulled thru the slot, one to pull and one to feed it thru straight.

Huge pain in the patoot- Also you have guy lines and poles to trip over in the middle of the night. Treat yourself to the real deal-

Will likely take 2 people and ladders or both get on the roof. We had a sunscreen that was 12ft long. It went on the rear of the trailer so the horses had shade. Required the wife to help. I was on the roof and she on the ladder. I pulled the awning thru while she held the awning up at the other end. Only used it when needed Not every time. I would spend the extra $ and install the rollup.

No doubt about that. Grew up camping for summer vacations with the family. Busted my tail a couple of times in the middle of the night going to take a leak....

I'm taking my trailer in on Friday (9/13) to leave for a week while they put a new 20 foot 2-step awning on it and block it up 3 inches. They also ordered a couple of hat racks from Outlaw for me. I've missed not having an awning for this summer. It will be nice to have it for the fall camping trips, which I am really looking forward to! I wasn't planning on having this trailer blocked up, but they took one look at it and said it needed it, so up it goes....

BJ have you had a blocked trailer? Does yours have a ramp? We had ours blocked a year ago this December. We went up 2 inches. I would not go up over that. I pull mine all around in primitive camps with no issues now. 2 inches makes a pretty big difference. Its a pretty big step up for us and down for the horses.

Yes, I had my two horse GB blocked 2.5 inches and my horses were fine with it. I do not like ramps and my horses don't either. They try and jump over them into the trailer. LoL.
