So I had this great idea to switch my interior 12v bulbs in my LQ to LED light bulbs. Reading on the Web indicated this would save my batteries when dry camping.
All went just fine. Then I swapped out the Bed lights and blew a fuse. Did it again and blew another fuse. Just curious if anyone would know why an LED switch out would blow a fuse? All the other lights are working fine.

are these LEDs hardwired? or are they screw-in replacements?If it is hardwired...did you disconnect the batteries before you started the process?...since LEDs are lights with polarity you have to make sure you install them properly + to + and - to -...finally you may have crossed the ground with the power leads

They are replacement bulbs. Remove the 12v bulb and insert these into existing socket.
Interesting thought though. I am only having issues in the double wall sconces. Both have a on/off push button and a main wall switch. I wonder if there is a wire crossed between the lights themselves. Maybe the crossed wire doesn't affect the 12v bulbs but does the LED.
I am going to check with a volt meter. These are the lights I wanted the savings on power from. The reading lights :)

Regular wedge style bulbs have a very thin contact area, some of the LED replacement bulbs I've seen have wide contact pads. It's possible the socket is slightly damaged where the contacts in the socket are too close together and the LED lamp is bridging the gap. Does it continue to blow fuses if you put a standard bulb back in?

No it only blows when twisting in the LED bulb.
It is the double wall sconce circut in the bearth. I an curious if their is a damaged sconce as you mentioned. I will be pullig the sconces off the wall to check this week.

From what you are describing about the light having 2 separate switches I would check to see if the light has the negative wire switched instead of the positive. If so you may be putting the bulb in backwards or you will need to disconnect your battery ground when you install the new bulbs.
