Getting ready to repaint my 1990 CornPro steel Stock trailer. I'm going to have it sandblasted, then primed and sealed before applying the paint. My friend is a painter, so he will handle the spraying. Can someone recommend a good trailer paint (1-step urethane) that is good paint and a good value (don't want the $300 a quart stuff!!). Also, do you know of any online places to order it. Thanks a bunch for any advice you can give.

The Delthane polyurethane acrylic enamel on our almost 10 yr old Logan has held up well. Still plenty glossy despite apparent neglect, not many chips in it, very little rust. Not sure if they make it anymore, though. Probably any modern urethane will be as good. Haven't used it but I've heard good things about this brand:

When you have your trailer sandblasted, the operator can seriously damage the thin metal on the roof and sides. I would suggest that you look into any number of the media blasting abrasives that are less aggressive and damaging.
Check the bottom of the roof where it is welded to the structural members. I had continual rust in the seams of all of these areas.
Immediately after the metal is abraded and cleaned, coat it with a rust converter (phosphoric acid) before you apply the primer. It will start rusting immediately, so it will have to be recoated quite quickly.
When I repainted my Cornpro, I used automotive single part paints, mixed to match my truck's colour. It was $100/gal. Polyurethane paint is a very colour fast and durable product.

I recommend and use Dupot Ful-Thane 2K Urethane both paint and primer. I get mine at NAPA cost is about 100.00 gallon that is for everything you need to paint with. Primer is about 70.00 a gallon

Wow! Thanks for all the great answers. This is really helpful. Right now, I am planning on painting it a vermillion red with a white roof. I'll check out all the different paints people have recommended and see if any is available at my local car/implement paint place. Hey Gard, thanks for the sandblasting/priming tips-- I'll ask about using something other than sand. Again, thanks for all the advice.
