GM waited just long enough outdo the new Scorpion in the hp/tq department...  Think I'll hang onto my old 2001, Chevrolet 3500, 496/Allison a little longer.

Well you knew as soon as one of the two announced, The other would beat it.

It's all about boasting rights.  7 hp difference on a 390hp engine is less than 1% difference.

I really doubt I will feel that going up a 7% grade.

I think I sit back a while and see which engine has the fewest problems over the next year.

I think its slightly less than 1.8% higher .  I do find it interesting that the Ford can tow over 4ooo#'s more though.  Since Ford didn't take any tax payer money, I probably will lean more in that direction myself.

The real question is have they tested thier motor like ford has....I talked to the Ford dealer here and they said that they have already had the Ford motor out testing for last 2 years so hopefully no bugs. That and I want to see which one gets better milage.

Go back and read that one again... That rating was for the F-450.....

I beat you still believe in Santa Clause too. Yeap, they tested them just like the 6.0 and 6.4. Let the other fools rush in, if there are any problems let them be the ones to deal with them. I would wait for a while.
