For those familiar with Brenderup horse trailers - do they typically need a 2" or 25/16" hitch ball?  Thanks!

I can answer that....2" diameter ball.  And the top of the ball needs to be 17-19" from the ground.  18" is ideal, mine is 17.75" and worked like a charm.

Take care and happy trailering.

Learn from my mistakes, too.. I needed a two inch ball to pick up my new trailer, but when I got there the hitch wasn't a side close type, it was a top close with a lip around the ball area.  My drop hitch didn't have enough clearance between the ball and the back of the dropped part, and I had to go get another drop hitch and ball to haul my treasure home. Luckily it was a Saturday and I got the tire store to tighten down the ball so I could make the 70 mile drive home.

Might want to take two hitches, two balls and go on a day places are open so that you can switch them if need be.

It definitely takes a 2" ball.  You should check the web site I think the ball height should be 19" from the ground to top of the ball.  I believe I was told "that is with a fat man on the bumper" but check the web site.

I measured from the top of my hitch ball to the ground and it measured 16 inches. Does anyone know if this will be a problem?

You probably should call the Bup place in Midland TX.  Their contact info is on the website.  Their website specifies 17-19" from the ground to the top of the ball.  But call or email them.  They are very nice.
