Hi!

First time post here - I've been reading for a while and have been learning a lot!

Anyway, looking at a 1998 Cherokee trailer. Any thoughts on them?

Thanks!

We purchased a used 2001 Super Chief Plus, 3h w/mangers, 8' wide, 10' lvg qtrs, etc. about six months ago.  I'm no expert on trailers, but IMO, if a used trailer wasn't well maintained, then I don't care what brand you buy, your going to have problems.  We were fortunate that the one we purchased was well kept.   We love our trailer and IMO the Cherokee is a well built trailer.

Theres alot of smart people here and will help you out anytime.  Us east coast folks get up earlier than the rest of the country and in a few hours you'll be getting other opinions.

Welcome.

Cherokee has been in business since 1989 and builds a great aluminum trailer. Construction wise it is one of the best built out there especially for the price and value you get. yes i do sell them! i also am a Team Roper and pull a trailer all the time and yes it is a Cherokee. I have pulled it for 7 years and love it.

I bought a 1999 Cherokee Super Chief 3/h this spring.  It has an aftermarket LQ in it.  The trailer has been great.  There are different opinions about the all aluminum trailers, but I've got nothing but praise for the Cherokee.

I bought a 2002 2 horse Cherokee in February.  I love it.  It has all the features of much more expensive trailers and is built just as well if not better.  Mine was not taken care of very well by the previous owner, but I've cleaned it up and it has no permanent damage.  Do a search; there have been posts about Cherokees before and I don't remember anything negative.

Lazy Pony,

I owned a 95 model 3-horse with dressing room for a little over three years. It was about 5 years old when I purchased it and it never gave a minutes trouble. It pulled great and it seemed to be very well built!

I purchased this 1999 Cherokee Invasion 3 horse slant w/living quarters 1 year ago.. LOVE IT.. I had a featherlite previously and had no problems with that one either.. Do have to say got alot for my money buying a used trailer... Cherokee seems to be very well made... No complaints from me.. Except my saddles tend to fall of the holders. Had to rig a rope for each to keep them straight.. I'm looking into changing the indoor/outdoor carpet they sit on and see if that helps.. but if that is my biggest problem...

Toured the plant in OKC and found them to be build very well.  Liked what you got for the money.  I did not buy one, found a great deal on a used 4 Star.  I loved the slide-out.  They will build you one any way you want.  If I buy a new one, it will be from them.
