I have a 2003 Ford F250 4wd that just started a new trick!! I have noticed a heavy vibration in the steering wheel but bad enough you can feel it just riding in the truck. I have recently had tires rotated. What could be causing this?

You might check with Ford on any warranty recalls.  I had problems like you are having on my 06 F-250 and they had to replace the shims on the drivetrain.  It was all under warranty.

Did you first first notice the vibration right after the tires were rotated? If a wheel weight came off on of the rear wheels it might not be noticable untill it was moved to the front. On my 03' Chev if I get a front tire out of balance it will dang near put your hands to sleep.  Just something cheap & simple to check.....

How old are your tires ? check them for tread separation, bubble on tire, jack it up and spin the tire on each side, use something to check the tire as you spin it and see if the tread sticks out more in one place than the rest of the tire.

Had that problem and they rebalanced then shortly after started again.I checked the tires as listed above and found 2 that were seperating.

Just my story.

I agree too, I would have the tires re-balanced.  We just had a similar problem, we had a *really* bad vibration coming up through the steering wheel.  It turned out to be tires that were slightly out of balance.
