I am so happy I am spinning with glee! My hubby came home from Afghanistan on a two week leave. We went to town today to buy a chainsaw and ended up buying a 2004 F250 Turbo Diesel Super Duty Club cab 4x4 long bed with gooseneck tow package already installed, with a digital electronic brake controller, keyless door entry, the works. It isn't the Laredo package, but darn nice! It makes my 1997 Ram 1500 look mighty small now! lol... We weren't planning on getting a new truck till next year, but we did one of those "quick window shopping" deals in the Ford dealership preowned lot...and next thing you know we are driving a new to us..F250 Super Duty. So now I have a truck to pull my new 3 horse gn w/living qtrs!!!
Now the 1500 can be semi retired to grunt work around the farm and the new truck will be my personal cowgirl cadillac!!
I want to thank all those who posted a while back about the pros and cons of diesel vs gas, 4x4 vs 2x4, suspensions, and tow capabilities.
We decided to be safe and have a sharp looking truck, although it set us back a few pretty pennies, but in the long run I think it will prove to be a good investment.
We never would have bumped up to a bigger truck had I not faithfully read posts on this forum. I learned about gear ratios, torque, towing essentials. Thank you so much my friends!!!!

Congrdulations!!!! I just got my "new" truck too. I now have a 2002 Dodge 2500 turbo diesel. It's just the plain stock truck (for now) but was already set up for towing GN trailers and I couldn't beat the deal.
I don't care to much about the power windows, but power locks are in the very near future. I miss my remote. Darn I've gotten lazy.

Did ya get the chainsaw too?
Congratulations on the F250. We bought one like that in 2002 and my wife drives it. Sometimes she lets me drive, but its her truck. I'm stuck with my old '90 F150.

Note to all: Hubby says thank you for the kind posts, he says he enjoys being over there for the USA and kicking Al Qaeda hiney!
MJ, looking forward to showing the truck off to ya this summer! We pick up the new trailer next week, Tuesday to be exact...yess!!! We finally have graduated to a decent rig that is going to last for a long time, no more cheap bumper pulls or gnecks. We decided to bite the bullet and get a setup that would last a long time and be safe on the road. I will post a pic as soon as I get the batteries charged in my digital camera!
