I try to take care of things the best I can and on my to do list every spring is to service my horse trailer and stock trailer jacks but I never seem to get it done. Is it necessary? Does anyone else do this? I know of no one that does but just seems like something that might be a good idea.Mike

Well, my jack is pretty non-fancy-- it isn't spring-loaded, I have to manually lift the jack foot when I pull the pin-- and liberally applying grease to the shaft itself was what made the difference between it being a one-person job vs. a two-person job. And as I enjoy trail-riding solo and being able to hitch up and go without any help is of primary importance, that proved to be an important maintenance task for me.
