My husband just installed a plywood shelf over the door of my mid tack as a place to store my show saddle pads. It was unused space and gets my pads up off the boot box, the only horizontal space big enough to put them previously. I'll post pics later, but thought I would share this idea with others who undoubtedly have the same challenge with where to store show pads. There is about 6" of space above the door (7' door, 7'6" trailer) and the shelf brackets mount on either side of the door to the vertical frame pieces so the brackets are out of the way as well.

Really nice! That is an excellent use of space! I think I'll be looking in my LQ tomorrow to see if I can do something similar.
