We are relocating to live oak florida and am looking to purchase a 2 horse straight load tandum axel trailer pumper pull to transport our other horse up there, and im wondering how safe they are on the high way at 60 miles an hour.  To me they dont look that safe would I be better off going with a 4 horse, because we will be relocating about 300 miles north of where we are at now.  I have a 4 horse lq trialer right now but we have 5 horses and could use the traier for day trips and trail rides, and was just wondering on how safe they are, any exsperence with them or opions please.

Thanks

I had a two horse BP and pulled it all over the place with no problems. I'm in Ohio and took it to Arkansas, Connecticutt, Maryland, Delaware, Michigan, and I don't know where all. Interstates, side roads, backroads, it was fine.

I pull one identical to this, a couple times a week, with two horse's, on the interstate at 65-70 mph with a 2500HD GMC... Trailer is a little tongue heavy, advertized empty tongue weight of 750#, doesn't swing or sway, pulls good loaded or empty. It's our, "run around trailer".

Pulled a 2H BP ST trailer many years, many miles. No stability issues at all

I had a WD set-up on my little Bison and that helped keep it stable. Just don't go whipping through traffic or doing sideways sliding stops

And be aware that the shorter trailer will buck some especially if it's empty or packed light.

I pulled a 2H straight load trailer for years, all over the place without the slightest issue. A good quality, well-balanced 2H will pull just as well as anything. I just sold my big 3H slant and am looking to go back to a 2H straight.
