Good luck to your wife. I've got some friends from up here that are going- it sounds like a lot of fun. They keep trying to get me to come to one of their shoots- one of these times I'll make it.

I watched mounted shooting once at MSU. It was really neat and might I say requires alot of talent. They had earplugs for their horses. Do the horses still wear earplugs outside?

Yes we use the plugs inside and out.  However the horses we are using are doing great with and without them, but we use them to save the hearing!  ALL ABOUT THE HORSES!

It took a few mins. to get the horses ok with stuff in their ears but they are great now, we just make it part of tacking up, brush, pad, saddle, ear plugs, boots etc.!

Better halfs horse is doing GREAT and started great, mine on the other hand is being flat out lazy in the arena!  On the trail or out in the open she is great and doing great with the gun fire, but in the arena she can find ANY gate ASAP to try and leave!  We are getting there....

Here is the lastest update from Toni (my better half) in Vernon, Texas at the regionals that is 4X the points.  She only needs 24 to make the World next week.  As of now after 3 stages of a 6 stage match she is setting 67 out of 125 total entries overall and has 232 points as of now!

Back to the guy this post was about, he showed up and started calling at 12am wanting to stay in our trailer.  Toni refused to answer the phone since she went by herself.  She and a couple of others followed each other up there and I got to baby set the other 87 animals.  Kind of hard to ask someone to help out and feed for you with this many critters.

Any way, the guy missed the check in and is not getting to shoot this weekend.  Now he is crying cause the CMSA will not change the rules for checkin to let him shoot.!  They have rules for a reason!

Congrats to your wife. Are you serious? This guy is calling at 1200 AM to stay in your trailer at an event? He seriously needs to get a life. Or even more so, needs to make some hotel reservations (if he's going to qualify) or be prepared to sleep in his truck. OK and if he shows up at your house in the middle of the night, call the police, he's nuts.I agree it's one thing to borrow a trailer, but campers of any sort are a whole other issue. Not to mention showing up at someone's trailer at 1200 expecting to be able to sleep in it is not just insane, just plain rude. As for missing his check in, sounds like plain old Karma kicking in.Ever think of sending him ads for living quarter trailers? Not linked to this site, but from the homepages that you find on this site.BTW you must have one sweet LQT for him to want to show it off at the finals as his own.

Kinda makes me wonder if he planned to show up and call your wife @ 12AM to ask if he could stay in the trailer to begin with.!! Man,now, that WOULD be pretty assuming.

Yes, I am serious!  Toni said when she got up Saturday morning (7am) to fee her horse he was parked accross the lot with his horse still standing in the trailer.  Yes that is from 12am till 7am in a POS straight load trailer.

Funny you say that, Toni and I had just talked about that on Thursday night whe we was loaded it up.

By the way, she started the day with a good run, but after the rundown when she crossed the time line to finish all I know is the horse made a nice sliding stop and she didn't!  Hit the wall and broke her little finger on her shooting hand.

But she did go on to finish the next 2 and so far she ended up mid 60's overall and I think 2nd in her class and ended up with around 100 points.  That is 76 more than she needed for the WORLD!

Congratulations Toni!!!

Now...why in the Sam Hill would he expect your wife, a woman traveling alone, to let him in the trailer??? Would he like another man staying with HIS wife? That is so nuts I just can't comprehend it. Not to mention totally unsafe for your wife. This is rapidly becoming stalker behavior-please be careful and a police report wouldn't be a bad idea.

The stalker behavior crossed my mind Sunday morning when Toni called and said everytime her and the girls she was running with turned around he was there!

What a dead beat!  Found out other news today about him.  He was run off from the place that his wife works for starting crap with her at work while she was on the clock.

Not only would I not allow some guy in there, but that request from the fellow would go over like a you-know-what in a dive suit with MY husband. As I am sure it did with you,Hogtown Boss.

BTW,is that a Bison trailer? Their interiors are some of the few that I've seen that don't require you to be a gymnast to enter/exit the sleeping area.

Oops, sorry, now I've scrolled across the full page, and see that it is a Sundowner with a really nice roomy interior. No wonder he wanted to have a sleep over.

That's one nice trailer/truck you have there. No wonder he latched onto you and your wife.

Hope your wife's finger feels better soon and WOO HOO! on qualifying.

Um perhaps your wife needs to walk softly and carry a big stick when you're not with her.

Not a big stick, we bought some live rounds for her RUGER .45's.  BIG GUNS, little lady!  She will just have to shoot left handed for a little while.  Ended up being to bone right above her little figure.

Well, her hand ended up being worse than we thought, so since she made her "quota" to at least qualifiy for the WORLD and getting her jacket.  She is going to save up and actually GO to the WORLD next year.  Hopefully I will be able to qualifiy next year and we will be able to go together.

Going to see if I can find her a sponsor for next year, cause the fees for World was going to be around $750 for stall and entry fee for the week.....

dawnb, No the points start at zero the day after the World is over.  So everone has a fresh start.   There is alot of shoots that offer so much X the points.  Like our local club offers 2X's the points for members and regional matches can be upto 4X or even better.  That really helps out if you are wanting to make the World with limited shoots.  Level 1 you have to have 200 points, level 2, 300 points all te way to level 6, each level you have you have 100 more that you number to make the World Shoot.  Now they have changed the rules to move up a class, you have to have 4 wins in a full class to move up, then at level 4 you have to have 5 wins in a full class and so on.....

Laurie, ha ha, your funny!

I'm a little late reading all this, but had to toss in my 2 cents worth.

This guy is a user, but you already know that.  There are many people out there who will never do for themselves as long as there is someone else out there that will do for them instead.  He's obviously one of them.

Second, the guy is an *$$.  He didn't get what he wanted, so he started insulting you.  Bigger *$$.

Third, any man who believes he can just hop in uninvited and share a trailer with a woman, married or single, makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.  That he obviously felt he could just bulldoze his way past all objections is beyond words.  Words to describe that behaviour aren't fit to print.

Fourth, my first trailer was a 12' tag along stock trailer.  On week long hauls we'd bed it deep, and on arrival would fork it clean and pitch the tent in the stock compartment.  Worked just fine.  I know a family with 9 children who make it to all the local horse shows and they reside in *gasp* a very large tent.  They've done this for years.  This man is lazy, cheap, and ignorant.

Fifth, OMG!  Congrats to your wife on her great results.  I have to say it was really exciting to keep getting the updates and see how well it was going, especially when we were all rooting for her to make her points.  What a great achievment.

Another a**hole update.

We just got word that he did not make enough money at the world to have fuel to get home!

And he was following people around all week trying to bum off of them too....This guy will never give up!
