If you buy this generator from a dealer, the dealer can handle warranty thru their distributor.  Our distributor guarantees the product and even will provide a loaner unit and pay all freight if there is a problem.  If you buy it off the internet, you might save a few bucks, but you are on your own getting help if there is a glitch.  These things are made by people, so glitches are always possible, though hopefully scarce.

If you buy from a dealer.Make sure they set everything up for you.I didn't and had to install the battery(it came with the generator)think small area. Also had to add wheel kit and oil.Nothing major just small PINA.

I wonder if a different muffler would make a difference. Anyone know? I need to find the thread that talked about it.

You know, without interfering with the circulation needed to keep the gen running cool, maybe you could make a box to surround it to help a little with the noise? I'm considering the same (and to keep it out of the weather) - something light and insulated that I could break into two parts and just put around/over the gen when we get where we're going.

If anyone here has done anything like that before I'd love to hear how it went?

LOL!  It's really, truely, not loud!  I ran the TV, DVD and AC tonight and it surprised me how quiet it was with a load.

I've heard (not seen) of people using those flexible dryer hoses to funnel the sound and exhaust away.  Anyone else seen this?  Hillbilly, but hey - if it works...

It's not that loud.  But if it could be quieter with a different muffler......  We had no problem sleeping with it running just outside the "bed room" of the RV.

Thanks for the link.

What type of warranty did you get with this. Who will you take it to if there is a problem?  Just wonded how it worked. I am going to buy one real soon, hopefully next week, and I am trying to decide if I want to buy off of E bay or a dealer here in Indiana. Thanks!

Looking at the site Dawnya posted I see they are advertising a spark arrester.I believe the Kipor already has one and it should be cleaned after so many hours of running. This is covered in the owners manual.

How much do you sell the generator for?  We have decided to go through a dealer to make sure the warranty is guaranteed. Please let me know, we want to purchase one by May.

Thanks!

Hey, I ordered mine on Monday, got it Tuesday and have been trying it out with different things to see how loud it would get.. This thing is amazing! The only problem that we had is our big LQ is pre wired for a generator and has the change over switch installed, this causes a problem when you do not have a 30 amp hook up. All we had to do is make up an adapter for the 30 amp plug on the generator to fit my trailer plug and it worked just fine. We even have a 16,000 BTU AC on our trailer and it had no problem kicking it on and running it. Even under a load this generator is so quiet. I am so happy, now I can take either trailer and go primitive camping and have all the power I need. (so much for primitive) HEE HEE If you are contemplating this purchase, you will not go wrong. OH, by the way, if you see the 3000 advertised it is the some generator as the 3500..

Have fun shopping..

Good Luck and Happy Easter

So glad to hear someone else with one!  And happy with it!

FYI:  the 3000ti is rated 2300 watts
the 3500ti is rated 2800 watts - that's why I got this one, so I can run the micro and AC at the same time.

Nope,,, you are wrong... The 3000 is rated @ 2800 not 2300...

Sorry!!!

When the generator was first introduced the Japanese put the 3500 name on it.. When Coast started handling it they had the name changed to 3000 to go more in line with the out put..

Soon the only place for the distributor to get the Kipor will be through Coast..

According to Holiday Kamper, the 3500ti is the same as the 3000ti, China changed the label to the 3000ti in March 06. He is on ebay, has 72 of them fresh off the boat with the new labels at 975 includes shipping. the 3500 and the 3000 are the same units, 2800 watts rated and 3000 watts peak.  enjoy......gary

Okay, so they just recently changed the name.
This is the one I was referring to: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7610074632

Keep forgetting to add:  Warranty info

Funtime RV in my area is a dealer/repair center.
I just print off my invoice from eBay, fill out the warranty card and mail it all in.  Just like anything else.
Hopefully I'll never need it!

Hey everyone... I went camping this weekend and some friends that we were right next to had a Honda.. My Kipor was quieter than their Honda. It wasn't by much but it was quieter. Both generators were very similar in design, they almost looked like the same gen. in different colors. But my Kipor had wheels and made it so much easier to move around. And it was about half the price of the Honda.

I Love My Kipor

Glad I found this thread that I had apparently missed before. I was researching the quiet portables, and it looks like these Kipor 3500TI models will do the trick. I put a call in to my local dealer (Kay) for a price this morning and hoping to hear back from them later today. Unless theres some huge price difference of $200-300 above the internet price I think I'll buy mine local. Anymore updates on usage in the field?

Bought mine today off of Ebay. It has a 2 year replacement warrenty from the people that I bought from and they will cover the shipping if it has to be replaced. Had them forward me a copy of the warrenty before I bought it. Lets hope I don't have to use it. $1023.00 total to my door. Have an endurance ride in 2 weeks and will let you know how it performs. I also found this site that has a really good reveiw and some good pictures: http://www.jsapr.com/campsmith/3500ti.htm

We bought ours from Kay at Northside Trailer a couple of weeks ago...we used it for the first time this weekend...WE LOVE IT!  We had alot of comments on how quiet is was. You will love it when you get one. It ran everything in our trailer without skipping a beat!  Now I can camp primitive and save money on the campsites...they just continue to go up..up..up!

We used ours Easter weekend and it did great. It wouldn't run the Ac and microwave on the powersaving mode, but it did on the regular setting.

Well, I ordered one of ebay. The description said 3500Ti, but when I got it today, it was the newly numbered 3000ti, with the 30 amp twist lock plug. Took all of 20 minutes to put on the wheels, oil it up and hook up the battery. She fired up on the first kick. So I hooked it up to the motor home and kicked on the 15000btu A/C and the fridge. She ran like a charm under load and was pretty dang quiet. Just have to make a 30amp pigtail tommorow, and the daughter can take it to the show with her this weekend. Not bad for $800 less than Honda or Yamaha.

I'm sooooo glad to hear these good reviews! We just got a nice bonus check, so I'm going to go shopping and get one this month. YAY! We'll be ready for hurricane season with our little home away from home.

I'll let y'all know when we get it how it goes.
