Provide a bill of sale, and a tranfer form which you can download off the motor vechicle page for Texas. If you have a title, you'll need to sign that also. If it's out of state, you'll need to get the form for that state. You'l want to give them your current registion also. If there is a loan involved, just have their bank work with your bank.

Welcome to the forum ...
If this is a cash sale .. You're good to go when you have the cash in hand. If you're going to take a check... do some investigation. Ask the buyer which bank the check will be drawn on. Then look up the telephone number for the bank and call to confirm that the check is genuine. IF you ask the buyer for the cashier's check number that they're going to give you, you have confirmation that it's a good check. Beware of the counterfeit bank check. The Nigerian scam lives in many forms.
An alternate process is to hold the title till the check clears.

Thanks, this is for Texas. I have a title but it was from Louisianna which never got transferred, and I have the trailer registered in TX as a non-titled. Do I pass along the plates and tags with the trailer? The tags expired in Aug, and I registered for new ones but my dog (bad beagle!) ate them before I could put them on the trailer, so I have to get new ones anyway.
