My trailer has a pin that hold the handle to keep the back door shut. Well it scrapes the paint off the pin. Is their a way to keep it from scraping the paint off or something? I have paint that matches my trailer for touch ups, but i dont want to keep painting it, just for it to scrape off again.

No joke. It seems pretty simple to me. I do not see what would be wrong with greasing the pin. When two pieces of metal rub together, what do you normally do? I grease it. Nobody else has posted any other ideas, let alone better ones.

After using the touchup paint, cover any areas that scrape with clear nail polish. You will have to re-apply the polish periodically but it's a lot cheaper than paint!

Go to a hardware store and get some heat shrink for electrical wiring comes in all different sizes and colors. slide it over the pin and heat it up it will shrink down to the size of the pin. Should last alot longer than paint.
