This brings to mind the Ford truck ad showing the large rig going up a mountain, navigating a sharp turn on the edge of what appears to be a very steep drop off (Western Horseman has the ad, among others). I always wince when I see the ad, wondering how many johnny-come-latelys will think this is safe, and typical. I also wince at some of the 4 wheel drive ads that take it to the extreme, and wonder how many YAMICS (young adult males with immortality complexes) will try what they see!

Did the trailer overturn, then sliding or rolling down the hill? I'm missing some part of this story, got the part about the shoulder giving away.... When another heavy vehicle passed by? Did the truck and trailer pull over to the right too far to let another vehicle pass, then the slid down the hill. Was the horse trailer sitting still or was it in motion at the time?
Anyway, good for the rescue team, when they do this type of rescue, it makes for some good training, whether it be for humans or equine.
