Does anyone have a step-by-step guide to winterizing the LQ.
Is there a way to bypass the water heater?
Thanks

At least on my LQ there are some valves under the sink (that's where my water heater is located) and that's where i bypass the water heater.
I then drain the LQ water tanks, and then on the outside there is another drain valve for the water heater itself.

We also lay out a lot of dryer sheets. The ones you throw in the dryer. Mice don't like the smell of them.

If you do a search on here under "winterize" you will find plenty of info. Look at the post from "j&j" and then look at the rv site that is listed there. It takes you step by step through winterizing.

Also at Wal-Mart they have a book back in the camping section that is called RV'ers guide or something like that. Its about 15$ but well worth it. It covers everything.
Good luck!

There sould be a bypass valve on your water heater. Turn it off then go outside, remove the plug and drain the water heater. Also, remove the annode from the water heater.  This will incrase the life of your water heater. You can  disconnect your water line from the water pump. You can buy a kit that attaches to the water pump and has a long tube to place into the antifreeze. Turn on the pump and then open all your water lines, one by one unitl the pink comes out. Be sure to do the shower head and outside water spigot if you have one.  You still must turn on the hot water handles even though the hot water is turned off, so that the lines are winterized. This kit cost less than 10.00 from the RV dealer. My keifer came equipted with one but other friends so how easy it worked and bought  one from the RV dealer.  My Keifer also came with an instructional  video that really made taking care of my trailer very easy. We have a regular camper too  and we winterize it the same way. You can also just take it to an RV dealer who will do it all for you, at a price, but they do a good job.
