Can anyone tell me the best place to purchase one of the slant load upright water tanks?  I'm looking for a good price on the 18 gallon tank.  Also, if anyone has any feedback on their use, I'd appreciate any opinions.

thanks...

country supply on the internet has good prices on high country plastics water tanks. go to google and punch in country supply as I do not know the web address.

we found that their shipping was reasonable and with the state tax here in our state it was cheaper to buy it from the internet.

I just got a 25 gallon one for my trailer.  I really like it.  I think it is the same brand as in the Country Supply catalogue.  I was unable to secure the tank and make it sturdy while using the plastic base that they offer as an accessory.  So I made my own base.  You almost need some sort of a base, otherwise the tank could not be fully emptied.

You can get these tanks at most of the horse supply places on the internet (Valley Vet, KV Vet, Country Supply...etc.) This place has many water tanks: http://www.horsetraileraccessorystore.com/watertanks_accessories.ht... Mine, a 25 gallon tank with stand (if you get one of these, get the stand!), came with the trailer and I put in the vacant hard to reach space in the back of the saddle rack in the tack area. http://todd.redwrench.com/Shell.htm#WaterTank Unfortunatley, for me, it does not carry enough water for our horses on 3 day campouts that we go on. (mostly my endurance rides) so I also have 2-15 gallon containers, that I bought at the feed store, on either end of the truck bed by the tail gate, that gives me and extra 30 gallons. I made braces for them so they stay on their sides, don't roll and don't interfere with the gooseneck. The tanks and spouts to empty them into buckets cost under $30.00.

Maccwall- if you have a hayrack high country also makes a 30 gallon tank for the rack. We purchased their 30 gallon corner unit which is rounded for our tack dead space and their 30 gal hay rack tank.

it is either 28 or 30 gal. I believe 30. It is wonderful to have this much water aboard but really does not last that long when camping. Very heavy too!

Yup, I saw that tank but like the price of the ones I made. I wish I could carry more. I'd love to get a 50 gal and carry that, I guess I really could, but i'm already carring almost 650lbs of water with all the tanks I have (fresh water tank, horse tank in back and the 30 gallons in the bed of the truck). I would love to have a hay rack so I could put a tank up there. Thanks for the tip though.

we recently bought a 35 gal from www.tackauction.com it is a site that country supply has. we found it listed on country supplies web site and they had it listed as being listed  the auction site.  just check before bidding since they had a couple of processing fees but was still cheaper the other sites. another  to check out is www.coolhorse.com
