Need to get better visability but can't find quality method of getting more without removing the factory electric (non-extending) mirrors. Currently using strap-ons from U-Haul...the collection of mirrors too cluttered to quickly see whats behind me and the strap-ons vibrate. Want to add extentions without removing the factory mirrors if possible. Help.

Hi Ichabod,
And welcome to the forum. I'm not exactly sure what to tell you. I have a 97 an dwhen I bought my truck I did not ant those small black stock mirrors. The ones I have are the larger ones. I know there have been some of the guys over on www.dieselstop.com that have put the newer ones on there trucks but they had to remove their vent windows. You can try and search over there or just ask. They are pretty helpful in that forum.

Thanks for the comments. The suction cup mirrors are tempting. The local RV dealer has a visit coming for lots of looking and hopefully the solution to the mirror problem. I am tinkering with removing the factory electric mirrors and installing the ubiquitious pickup swing-outs with big mirrors. Old guys like me need real big mirrors just in case I remember to look behind me before I back up! Thanks again for the help.

Hi! I just faced the same dilemma with my '97 F-250. It was highly recommended by Ford NOT to install the big mirrors that bolt into the door. It introduces the possibility of rust by drilling into the door. Any knock or hit (garage side!) on the mirror can create a dent in the door.
I purchased the slip on mirrors that have been described. They screw on and fit snugly with little/no vibration. Mine were $74 at Just Trucks Accessories in Indy
