Hi all. After a year of searching, finally found and purchased our first LQ trailer! when buying used some things just can't all work out, and I love everything about the trailer except it has a flat nose. I have a 2002 F-350 Diesel short bed truck. Trailer is 8'wide. Purchased the b & w 4" hitch extension. Do you think this will be enough? was originally going to get the 9" pop up extension. Wondering if I need the 9 versus the 4. any help would be great. Thanks!

As stated in a prev. thread, I have an 01 dodge short box with b&w hitch and their extender, works great on turns but still have to watch backing and turning as I think I could get into trouble there. First tried without extender, and just about put a big dent in my cab ..... lol. I would think that the pop up hitch extender at nine inches would solve the problem for good. I guess it all boil down to ones degree of comfort in towing.

I have a Ford shortbox also. I use the Popup extender and I believe that is a 9". Makes all the difference in the world. You can actually turn it at a 90 degree angle, in some really tight spots. I love it.

Very true. Our driveway is probably my worst place to get turned around in. Live on a hill, getting turned would be impossible without the extender. Good luck.

thanks for the replies! sorry for re-posting an old question, but I was under the impression that not all short beds were the same size.
b & w stated that I may have to use both the 4" and the the 9". I did see the previous thread on that topic. hoping I don't need both and I think I will try the 4" and see how it goes.
Thanks again to everyone for replying. this is a great resource for a new gooseneck trailer owner. 60
