I thought I would post over here also, I had started one over on barrelhorseworld also. I got some responses, all were mostly positive just trying to get more opinions or suggestions also.Opinions on these trailers? Anyone know of or has had serious problems with them? I can't seem to find too many reviews on them and I don't know if this is a good or bad thing. I did do a search on here and on barrelhorse not too much info, a little but not a lot. We are looking at them, possibly buying new with some additional options if we do choose to go through them. We'd be getting a 4 horse slant. Thanks

What are your wants and needs in your trailer? There are many trailer manufacturers out there and all have a variety of pros and cons. What are you looking for and what is important to you - steel/aluminum, certain price range, aluminum floor/rumber/wood, etc. There are so many options you almost have to say this is what I want and then find the brand that fits your wants and needs.

I have one horse who is a complete jerk on the trailer to other horses and he is ultimately the reason for getting a different trailer. I have a monarch stock trailer now with no dividers and he basically does the opposite of what he's supposed to be doing. We want him slant loaded he makes himself straight, we set him up for straight he wants to be slanted. Oh yeah and he hogs any inch he can get, hes caused several problems on the trailer and does/has kicked at other horses. So his punk butt is going into the stud wall slot. Price is probably the biggest factor otherwise. This trailer seems to take the pros from each situation and not too many cons. We have never really liked the idea of the center bar for the back doors to the trailers and this one uses the semi trailer type doors which we really like. Also it seems like anything we have been looking at used has been around 15000, this we can get new, slightly customized for like 5000 more... so I don't know kind of just makes more sense but like I said I don't know too much about these trailers and don't want to be buying junk.

I owned a 2H gooseneck slant load Hawk for five years and would buy another Hawk tomorrow without any qualms. The only reservation is that you will need to take care of the fiberglass roof. Gard addresses care in his post.

Things I really likekabout Hawk: steel frame, aluminum skin; fiberglass roof; wood or maintenance-free floor; thick floor and wall mats; well lighted in and out; light and airy interior; well ventilated; option of straight load withouts mangers (I hate the dang things); easy pulling; solidly built. Hawk designs trailers that are easy to use and pleasing for both horse and owner.

Just for general principles I'd comparison shop but I really liked my Hawk.

**Just make sure you get enough room in your slant stalls. My horse is 15'3" but he is really long and he didn't have much room left to put his head down.

Flatlandfilly. Do you know what width the trailer was that the slants were a little short? The one we'd be getting is the elite style which I believe is 80" wide and 7'4" tall and the actual stall width is 44". I don't know how long the slants are. I do have 2 horses now that push 15'3 and a two year old who is going to make that height atleast.Retento. Thanks for the Mr Truck review, I've read it lol. prolly at least 3 times now. Absorbing as much info as I can.

No, sorry. But I don't think it was 80" wide. I know we measured the Hawk when we put it up for sale but mmemory is the first to go. Mine was a Deluxe which I think is the less expensive model and it was a 2000. I bought it used in 2005 and sold it 2010 December. It had weekender quarters and I'd never used them plus I only hauled a few times a year plus I needed the $$$$. You know how it goes. When I get home tonight I'll see if I can find Risa's phone number. She is a dealer in the Carolina's and is wonderfully helpful.

Should have mentioned the steel is galvanealed which I think is a patented way of galvanizing the steel so it won't rust.
