. Anybody know how the trailer can measure 65" when Eby said that year should be 56"?I pull a 4 star LQ with this truck - no problem, but its a later model. Any issue with trailer supports anyone can help me with? Sure don't need THIS problem...Hoping for some quick advice here. I'll be checking the axles, structure, lights/brakes, tires and tire wear - all the normal stuff. Its freshing PA inspected. Just hoping for some insight on the clearance issue. Thanks!"/>

Could use some help - quick.  Am planning to go buy a 97 Eby 16' stock gooseneck.  Its a 3 hr + trip, planned for tomorrow, so need some help from experts here pronto.  Here goes --

The seller (a non-Eby dealer) said they measured from ground to underside of gooseneck, and it measures 65".  The Eby dealer said at 1997 the underside of their goosenecks was 56".  I relayed this to the seller, and they confirmed again the measurement is 65".  Am sensitive to the bedrail issue; don't need the body shop on my payroll if you know what I mean 4.  Anybody know how the trailer can measure 65" when Eby said that year should be 56"?

I don't understand "from the ground to the bottom of the gooseneck." In the first picture, you can change that problem by extending the stem of the goosenck to raise the nose.

Only if you want to overweight your rear axle and offbalance your load.  Also, you will have a breakpoint at the rear of the gooseneck where it is now heading downhill right towards the rear of your bedrail.

The most efficient way to solve this sort of problem is with a deck... http://www.hillsboroindustries.com/Photos/images/AluminumTruckBed4-...

Thank you.  You SURE are right about that!  I use my truck for a real estate rehab business, and so the sides are important to me.

Anyway, I did not buy the trailer.  It was only 6' wide.  I neglected to check the width.  Newer Eby's start at 6'6" and so I wasn't accustomed to the narrower possibility.
