Over the last few years, there have been complaints made against a few trailer manufacturers, for the quality (lack of) and structural strengths of their roof systems.

It has come to my attention, that there is now a fix that will address these complaints. There is available, a kit that will greatly strengthen the top of your trailer, and make it almost impossible for any horse to poke its head through a standard roofing panel.

The kit consists of two longitudinal strips, that are fastened lengthwise along the roof edges, one on each side. There are small brackets that are subsequently attached, at a two foot spacing. Once this installation is completed, the rest of the kit consists of a multitude of small ratcheting load binders, similar to those used in adjustable fencing.

The webbing of these has been changed from a polypropylene to a kevlar material, 20 times stronger than steel by weight. The binder is attached to an installed bracket on one side of the trailer, and the strap is then pulled across the roof and its hook placed into the corresponding bracket on the other side.

When all of these straps are located, it's a simple matter to lift the ratcheting handles and tension the straps to a snug setting. When this is accomplished, the roof is ready for the most errant of horses. There is now, no way the roof can be penetrated with their heads, and the "EXPLODING ROOF SYNDROME" is completely eliminated.

gard,  this is off topic, but could you look at the post about  "broken rivets, Featherlite".  I made a suggestion but asked the poster to hold off until he heard from you.

That is funny, a good April Fools joke, but hey - there are some good ideas there, too.
