I was pulling my floor out of the 1987 2 horse WW trailer I am restoring. Anyways, thought it was wood until we started pulling it up and realized it is a plastic floor about the size of 2X6 wood planks but very thick heavy plastic (as heavy as a 2x6 too). So I am wondering if anyone has heard of this and if it is factory or an aftermarket job? And also, is this a common thing?

How old is Rumber?  It sounds like the Trex or another manufactured decking board.  It's probably not factory.  Our WW had wood floors, but it was a bit older.....

All along I thought is was a wood floor...but when I took it out today I found out it wasn't. Of course, it was pretty dirty so it was hard to tell until then plus it has been under the mats until today too. They seem to hold up well and don't sag. I was kinda thinking they were factory mainly because the bolts that were holding them down to the frame were SO rusted that they literally just broke off. Even the wood tongue-n-groove stall sides are original (rotted but can tell they are original). Alot of the wood along the bottom (near the floor) has turned to dust. I am planning on putting the plastic flooring back in and debating on if I want to put another layer on top of just wood along with my rubber mats.I was just curious if anyone knew of these or have ran across them before. The 1987 WW that I have, seems to be a 'top of the line' trailer for back then (1987)...since it has the double tack doors with double slide-out padded saddle racks, tons-n-tons of bridle hooks, double roof vents, not the normal WW square style sliding/bus side windows (instead has the trapezoid-shaped bus windows like the newer models have now), nice custom pinstripping all over and now with this floor.....it just made me curious if it was factory or not.

Maybe it was an option.  I loved our old WW, wish we still had it. It had built in hay racks on both sides so you could feed the horses while tied outside the trailer.

Back in 1987 WW was using a board that was made by a company name TEX DECK. That company is no longer in business.  The man who started that company started Rumber Materials in 1991. I work for Rumber in Muenster, TX. WW currently uses Rumber.  I hope this helps.

If it has been in there since 1987 with no problems i would stick with it.
