I was recently in Colorado, camped at 8000 feet.  When the trailer was hooked up to electricity, the fridge worked fine.  When I left the campground and went to a primitive site, the fridge would not stay working on propane.  The light blinked, indicating that there was a problem.  In searching the owner's manual, it said that in altitudes above 5000, one might experience burner outage and to operate the fridge on AC.  Has anyone else had this experience?   Several other friends that I was with had no problem with their fridges.

I am from the Seattle area and had some friends travel to a show in Denver and they had the same problem.  Had to run on AC rather than propane.

I just got back from Colorado where we camped at about 9,200 ft. and I had no problem with my fridge on propane. I was concerned about it tho and kept an eye on it.

FYI .... there is an issue wit Dometic frigs (although they are not saying) with the propane operation and the unit switching off.  Often you can restart the unit but it will go off again.  It turns out that Dometic "upgraded" thier control boards with a new, more efficient system that did not work very well. In my Lance camper (2001 year) we were having that problem when my wife was at a Parelli seminar and we ended up with an aftermarket replacement unit (made in Oregon) that cost about $250 with troubleshoot, R&R and test.  Unit works great, no issues.  Wer live at 3000 ' and ore often 7000 or higher with no issues.  If you want, I can get the supplier name.  Good luck.

I had heard about an issue with Dometic, but mine is a Norcold.  Thanks for the offer.
