I just called a dealer in Oregon to get a price on adding a ramp to my TrailsWest 2002 7' wide trailer. Boy did I get sticker shock $1126.70 plus installation. He did tell me that is an aluminum ramp with mats and the factory would need the VIN from my trailer, so it is custom fitted to the trailer. I was expecting something around $700 installed. Does anyone know if this price is way to high or if I'm way to low? Thanks for you help

I had their ramp installed at the time of purchase.  It is spring loaded to assist in raising it back up and it is aluminum.  I don't think it cost quite that much but remember it was pricey.  We will never have another trailer without a ramp....had a couple horses trip and fall on their way in.

I would call Don Johnson trailer sales in Walla Walla Washington. They have been extremely helpful to me for all my trails west accessories. I live 1 mile from coolhorse.com or Foust Feeds same place, they are a trails west dealer, but I have never been able to deal with them. They are the highest priced people in the country in my opinion. I found it much cheaper and easier to deal the Don Johnson that is a 1000+ miles away.

Hi Clow, first I would like to say this is not a solicitation for business from a dealer, it is trying to answer a question & give an honest price on a trailer option. We can install the aluminum ramp, we carry them in stock in our parts dept; for $950. It costs a little more than if added at the factory because it is a retro fit. Please call me if you have any questions, Sam Waldron, Don Johnson Sales, Walla Walla Wa. 1-800-831-0875 Featherlite & Trails West Dealer.
