OK I know every person heals differently but I'm getting ready to do the knee replacement (left) and was just wondering if anyone has had this done and about how long did it take to be able to ride again? I hoping for around 6 weeks is this even reasonable?

It is a reasonable expectation. The key to a successful rehab is WORK THAT KNEE! Even if you have to cry down your leg wile you are doing the exercises. An exercise bike is the best thing you can use. Start with the seat as high as you can and lower it a notch at a time until your knee has full range of motion. It hurts in the short term, but it is worth the effort.

Thanks for the replies and Gard that link was just what I was hoping to see, that you can indeed get back in the saddle fairly quickly. Thanks and

Yeehaw.........you will be fine....depending on how adventurous you are, with one knee, you can probably ride for about 10-15 minutes on day 30 post-op. I had both of mine and was back on 40 days post op. That was 7 years ago. Rode my show horse at the trainer's yesterday and then took my beloved gelding and hit the trails for about 3 hours today. Message me if you would like to ride with our bunch sometime.
