Thinking of buying either a Chev 4500 or a 5500, how much garage door clearance do I need in height? In other words how tall are these darn things? This might require a new garage?

Don't know the exact height but, I have a Kodiak and it will not fit under a standard size garage door. Need the RV height garage door to get it in. Needless to say, mine sits out in the weather.

Check your width to. The garage we had in Tx was JUST wide enough for my 2500 to fit in. I had about 3 inches on each side, 6 if I folded in the mirrors.

The first time you try driving in, it's a little difficult. But with all the power these new trucks have, a little pressure on the throttle and it's done. Just ignore the noise, your husband will eventually stop screaming. The next few attempts are much easier, especially now that the mirrors aren't in the way anymore.

Like my neighbor said- "My new trailer won't fit under the shed because the A/C gets in the way". As other neighbor said- "You just weren't backing up fast enough..!"
