Actually it is not.  Some might try and say it is but it is the same drivetrain as the Dodge Dakota and they are not rated as 1/2 ton vehicles.

If you are needing to know for towing reasons, post the gvrw that is located on the vin sticker on the drives side door or door jam.

Location: Denver Colorado		At least it has rear leaf springs, which is hard to find on a SUV now. Durango went coils in 2004.

Dunno.
Dunno that it matters either.
If you want to tow with it then it's tow rating matters more than whether or not "someone" wants to designate it as a 1/2 ton SUV.
