Never had a trailer with LQ and trying to decide what I need. How long and what can I run off of just the battery power? I know I need a generator for big stuff, but how long will lights and radio run with just the batteries for short trips.  Trying to decide on a portable generator vs onboard.

Thanks for any adivce!!!!

The big electric pull comes from a/c & furnace. Most of the other devices use minimal electric. So, if you don't need the biggies, you can run off the batterieies for a weekend. Most LQ trailers have 2 marine, deepr cycle batteries. If the batteries do get weak, they'll rechatge from the truck when you travel
Just be sure to unhook the truck when you're camping, so that you don't discharge the truck battery. We also plug the camper into the 120 at home when we're not using it. That keeps the batteries fully charged. They'll last about 2 years, at least ours did, before they need to be replaced.

Horsemom, i agree with cloud, they will last about a weekend. The one thing is with us you cannot use your microwave off of the batteries. you have to be plugged in to electric or to a generator. we chose to get a portable generator. more versatile so we can use it at home for other purposes like the electric going off.
