I have a 2000 3 horse slant Sundowner with 12 ft living quarters. Bought it stripped down, have installed cabinets myself. Now I want to put in a small shower. Has anyone done this? Can an RV repair place do it for me? What did yours cost?

Most RV places will do jobs like this around here. There is alot to consider in this case depending on how much you want. If you want the traditional unit in the LQ part of the trailer, you will need to add the freshwater holding tank, the unit itself, the gray water holding tank, a 12 volt pump, hot water heater, and the required plumbing. However, I have seen individuals that mounted a "cowboy shower" in the horse area. All they did was install the fresh water tank, pump and electric water heater and had the shower head at the butt end of the first stall of the trailer. The water was allowed to run out the back. This would be fairly easy to install yourself. This way would keep you from having to mount a holding tank under your trailer.

The best and easiest way to do a cowboy shower is go to RV store or Camping World and get what's called an Outside shower. It will be in a plastic enclosure with either a finger lock or a keyed lock. Cut the hole, hook up the hoses, fits nice and flush in the wall so horses can't get at it.
