Sorry missed the edit time!
We have 3 Geldings and 1 Mare in our pasture. The Geldings seem to be getting unrulely when we ride. They try to buck and carry on until the ride gets going. Could the fact of having a Mare in with them be causing this? The Mare was with them all last summer with no behavior issues.

I doubt the mare has anything to do with their behavior.
My herd is mixed and I rotate through which horse I ride. Some times I take the whole gang riding, some time I pull one horse and ask that horse to go by theirself. It's just training issues getting the horses to behave regardless of who is with them, herdmates, alone or showing up for a trail ride with 100 new horses.
My geldings are always more fractacous. its' just their personality and has nothing to do it the mares were around or not. My mares on the other hand are my babysitters that I can put anybody on. Again just their personalities.

We have mares and geldings together all the time, haven't had any issues. How are your geldings when you are handling them on the ground? If you aren't always in control on the ground, whether grooming, feeding etc, they will get out of hand under saddle eventually. Check their ground manners, if you are having respect issues on the ground you need to start doing some ground work with them. Let us know what happens.
