Is there any place to camp with your own horses overnight in Yosemite National Park? If so has anyone done so? I just saw a show on Oprah. It is gorgeous. Any info would be great. Thanks,

I believe one of our posters lives just outside the park. Look up "cowpony1", as she has posted some gorgeous pictures of that area of the Sierras. I have ridden some on the east side below Ebbetts pass, but not up in Yosemite.

While we are not camping with our horses, we are going on a 4 day horse drive at the Rock Creek Pack Station (right outside Yosemite) in June. We are driving the pack stock from the winter to summer pasture. We will ride horses provided by Rock Creek. I will ask about camping with your horses.....we will have lots of time over the evening campfires.

I just got back from a Horse Drive conducted by the Rock Creek Pack Station on the outskirts of Yosemite. We then visited Yosemite. I remembered your question and asked. Yes, you can ride your personal horse in Yosemite. The stables on the valley floor will even board your horse, supplying feed and bedding for $15.50/day. Right now there is a ban on boarding outside horses because of the herpes problem. There are camp spots for humans also.
