I have a new boarder coming in and I need to pickup her two horses in a town about 150 miles away. What is a fair price to charge someone for transporting horses. I have no clue. Thanks in advance for the help.

I had a horse hauled from Rapid City , South Dakota to Billings, Montana and it cost 150.00 I don't remember what the mileage is but to drive it takes about 6 hours. If that helps.

What year was that? 1952?!!! Thats mighty cheap for a 375 mile, 6 hour trip.

Around here, $1.60 per loaded mile per horse.  Some haulers cut that rate to $1.00 per mile if the horse is going both directions and the driver is not dead-heading.
