Just bought an '01 C&C aluminum trailer with white skin and it didn't clean up (I had it acid washed and buffed/ waxed 2x) as well as I would like. A local auto body shop and then another local RV company said they could repaint the white for around $3500.
I am wondering if anyone has had any experience with doing this and if so, how it turned out. I don't really want to spend that money and may just get over how it looks...

An aluminum trailer can certainly be repainted. In fact, the preparation is much less than that involved in painting a steel trailer. Automotive urethane paints can be used, which are colour fast and UV resistant. A single part paint can also be used, which involves much less labour and material costs than a two part process.
The amount of details you desire, IE the number of colours and graphics will add to your costs. Your quote of $3500 seems high, in light of the minimal amount of initial work that has to be performed. I would shop around for some additional prices, and pin the shop down for specifics about what it will do for the price.

Get you some liquid aluminum polish & a clean rag. It will only cost your about $9 to find out. You'll be pleasantly surprised. (I use the Mothers power alumuminum polish from Walmart) Let us know the results!
