Can someone post links/references for horse-trailer towing with sedans? I know that if our children keep riding, we'll probably want a GH-capable truck. But it's time now to buy a sedan (replacing minivan), and we don't have anything else that would pull a horse on roller skates. At a glance, the most capable new sedans are the Crown Vic/Town Car family (up to 3500 lbs). That's barely enough for one horse in a 2H two-axle trailer, which is at least 2500 lbs empty.

I would move up to a 4-door 1/2 ton p/u and pull a 2-horse trailer.  Or at least an extended cab.

Personally, I have an F-150 extended cab and pull a 3-horse Chaparrel G/N.  But I live on the flat plains (no hills) and the trailer is really light.

Most of the pickups on the market now ride almost as good as a sedan. You might want to consider an suv such as an Expedition or Tahoe, if you do not want a truck. Towing safely is the most important point. Good luck and happy trails.

If you pull horses with your sedan, you'll either be forced into a junk fiberglass traiiler or one that isi way too heavy for the car.

Thanks for the input, all. For now, I'd like to find a sedan that gives us the capability of towing one horse a short distance when absolutely necessary. We don't own a horse yet. Daughter will be 14 when lease is up on this new car; we'll probably get a fifth-wheel pickup then if she's still riding and if I hate bumper hitches as much as I expect I will.
