I'm looking at new trailers because I have not been able to find what I need used. Safety for the horses is most important so I have been looking for a used heavy duty aluminum, with a small LQ, 2 horse. I need warmblood size though so it's been hard to find one. I'm considering new, but the high end quality trailers new are out of my price range. I need advice on a new mid-range LQ trailer. Just can't stand the thought of loading my ever trusting horses into a tin can. Any advice?

I'm not sure where you are located. A lot of trailers seem to be kinda regional. Of course the high end trailers get shipped every where. It is much easier to purchase a trailer that you can go look at. And that kinda requires that dealer near you carry the brand you are interested in. You may want to visit the Western Stock Show in Denver, The Quarter Horse Congress or similar large show where multiple trailer manufactures are on display.I've had good luck with Logan Coach trailers. They are a steel frame with Aluminum skin trailer. My current trailer ( 2006) has about 50,000 miles of use. Much of that down forest service and BLM dirt roads to remote trail heads. It has held up very well with only normal expected maintenance. They were are Built in Northern Utah, So they are close to me, which influenced my decision. But they were purchased by Titan trailer a few years back and operate as a higher optioned trailer than Titans normal trailers. They have a production built LQ. They are not in the same league of customer LQ, But they are functional and well designed.

I'm located in Northern California, so most of the trailer manufacturers are far away. It would be great to be able to look at some trailers. I want an all aluminum trailer because I live right on the ocean and everything rusts around here. I will look into the Logan's though and thankyou so much for your help.

I drive out to Antelope Island in the middle of the Great Salt Lake almost weekly all winter. It's a 7 mile causway that is only 4-5 foot above the high water mark. And Utah has an abundance of salt that they use on the roads in the winter months. And the steel frame on my trailer is not showing any rust.Granted I have no idea what salt in the air from the ocean is like. The shore of the great salt lake. http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p259/Painted-Horse/2009/006.jpg

I guess what I'm really asking is, is there a mid priced trailer out there that is a heavy duty aluminum? A trailer that wouldn't crumple up if I were to get in an accident. Are the mid range brands, Kieffer, Sundowner, Exiss,Sooner.......... all about the same? Can anyone suggest a brand that may be sturdier in this price category?
