Not out of line, unfortunatelyl. See if you can find someone who will pull it on a backhaul, such as a freighter that is pulling an RV from northern Indiana to Texas and will come back empty unless they find a backhaul. Backhauls will be about $1.00 per mile. Or, go to www.UShip.com, enter your shipping point and destination and type of trailer, and people will bid on the trip. IMPORTANT - be sure to have full coverage insurance for the value of the trailer before it leaves Texas. This is not expensive insurance as there is no liability involved.

Your other option is drive down yourself and really see the trailer you are going to buy...sometimes trailers pictures and the reality can be worlds apart...

The rate doesn't sound that high. With out knowing exact locations, I came up with 1300 miles which comes out $1.40 per mile. When I ordered my trailer from Trail Rider, they offered to have it shipped, but I picked it up instead and saved about half the shipping costs.
