I have a flatscreen digital TV in my homemade LQ. I have the boomerang antenna. My problem is the pic freezes up. All connections are tight. I have excess cable tied behind the TV. My pic freezes up alot. Would shortening the cable or getting a new antenna help. Someone said to hook my old digital converter to the TV and it will pull the channels in better. The stations are located within 25 miles so the signal strength shouldn't be the problem.

My TV, which was already in the trailer when I bought it, has some sort of powered antenna. When the button is in the off position the TV freezes, when it is on my reception greatly improves.

It sounds like the signal is weak or blocked by a building. Try changing the orientation of the TV antenna to point it at the station's antenna or moving the trailer to another location.

Before the conversion to digital, I used to get tv reception in almost all my usual camping places. While it would be snowy, it was watchable. Since digital, nothing and the reason is because of digital. An analog signal is received and if part of the signal is degraded you got a snowy picture, with digital it's all or nothing. There's probably nothing your going to be able to do to fix the problem unless you plan on elevating the antenna higher (as in a tower) or going to satellite.
