We just installed a new manual flush toilet but the water doesn't fill the tank. It comes in but extremely slow. We have a good flow of water in the kitchen and bathroom sinks. What could be problem?

The water just "rinses" as it flushs and the flapper opens... the tank doesn't fill up like our home toilets. Is it a two pedal model? one is to run the water, the other to open the crapper-flapper....

It just has one. But the water only trickles in, there's about a half inch of water unless you hold the flusher half way down and then a little more water comes in, but it doesn't have a lot of water coming in when you flush. Is that nrmal? There doesn't seem to be enough water coming in to flush much of anything.

pickup on the flusher and it will fill the bowl. then you can flush what you want. the 1/2" is just to keep the smell from coming up through the tank.
