I have a 2006 Dodge Mega cab and when I start it and its just idling I will turn on lights they come on fine. But when I go to drive off the lights will get a little bit brighter when it idles up anybody have this. Not that I find it a problem just wierd.

When your engine is above idle, the alternator voltage will exceed your battery voltage. Any illuminated lights will show this difference.

The Dodge (Cummins) diesels have a intake grid heater that pre-heats the air before it goes into the engine it draws a ton of power and will cause the lights to dim and brighten. Only usually happens at colder temps like say now.

Look at the amp gauge- it should be reading low while this is happening.when the heater is done cycling it will go up to normal, at least on my 03 it does, thats how long I let it warm up before going when cold out.
