We spent a lovely weekend at O'Bannon Woods in the Harrison-Crawford Forest of Southern Indiana.  The camp was very clean.  The trails were a bit muddy from all the rain we've had this summer, but even slogging through the mud was a ton of fun.

Usually the first of Aug. is so unbearably hot and humid, but we had terrific weather.

Here's Dwight in a dry creek bed.  We couldn't figure out where the water went.

One trail took us out to the remains of an 1800s iron bridge over the Blue river (which was brown from all the rain.)  I walked out on it a little, but my buddy 'Rose' made me come back because it was making her nervous.

The only complaint I have is that the map for the horse trails is very hard to follow.  It is a black and white topographical map and all those squiggly lines look alike to me.  We spoke with the property manager, "Ranger Bob", who showed us a draft of a new map he is working on and it is going to be great!  Hopefully it will be ready by next spring.

Thank you so very much!!! The pics are great. I am so glad you had a nice time. My husband's family is from Indiana, and we are planning a trip there the first of October. My older brother is coming to babysit the folks and feed my animals. I am so looking forward to getting away for a few days.

Mom has been moved to the swing bed unit at the local hospital and is recieving a thousand percent better care than when she was in Albuquerque. We moved her home against the nursing home's wishes, but who cares what they think? Mom is in a MUCH better place and is improving rapidly. It doesn't get better than this, especially when things looked so grim just a week ago.

Everyone on the forum has been so kind. Thanks again!

Marla-What rehab facility was your mom in? My mom just got discharged on Tuesday from one also in Albuquerque, off of Menual just east of I-25. She was there a month. Some reason being closer to home makes a world of difference to a person. That is why I keep telling my mom home health care and out patient physical therapy services. Inquire about these services too. Some insurances cover it as its cheaper that in-patient care.
