Finally, after two years of anger and frustration, the livestock inspectors have filed a lawsuit against the man who has been starving his mules and horses. One filly died last month. Help came too late for her. I couldn't get any help from the judicial system, so I fed the animals myself for two winters. The filly that died was so heavily burdened with parasites that the feed had almost no effect on her. She was ony 22 months old and was 7 months pregnant when she collapsed. I have been asked to testify in court and am more than willing to do so. I hope the judge makes it so tough on him that he never owns another head of livestock.

I hope that the case moves in a positive direction. The filly that was preg that died, she was 22 months old with a 7 month fetus, then he bred her at 15 months old. Thats tooo young.

The former judge who returned the animals to their owner is out of office, thank God! I know that our new judge is smarter that his predesessor. I hope that he is more compassionate as well. I have been beating this drum for years now, to everyone who would listen. Hopefully some of them will show up in court.
