Hi everyone, this is my first time posting but reading and learning for 3 years! A wealth of horse trailer knowledge is on this forum therefore I would like your opinions.  My husband and I are looking at a Merhow 2003 Equilite 2 horse with weekender.  I did a search and mostly I have found good comments with the Merhow brand. (We have owned Sundowner and Gore and loved them both).  I was wondering why Merhow stopped making the Equilite, is it comparable to the Sundowner Valuelite?  Does anyone else own this model and how do you like it?  Any advice or recommendations are appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Jan

I have an 05 Equilite advertised on this site;  would love to keep it tho (just do not need 2 lq trailers);  Merhow just changed the names;  now they are building alumastar, equistar and verylite.........so basically they went from 2 lines to 3 lines.  Take a look at the Merhow website.....they have been making horse trailers for 50 plus years so they are doing something right.

I think they made the Equistar more like the Equilite only with a wood floor. I also think you can order the aluminum floor if you want on the Equistar. Always thought Merhow was one of the better trailers out their.

2006 Equilite with slide and Showtime LQ. Solid as a rock, safe. Equilite is basically an optioned up Equistar. Great welds, workmanship and really like the roof design, horses ride well in it. Only complaint wish the drop downs were larger ( may change them myself).
