I want to put a cabover camper in the bed of my truck and pull my little horse trailer. I need to extend the ball mount about 18 inches. Is this possible ? Thanks for your opinions .

I would be concerned with moving the weight 18" farther off of the back axle. Doing so would act like a lever and could cause the front end to be squirrely/light. The more weight the bigger effect. No physics major but not sure if I would do it.

We knew people we trail rode with years ago that did it. I think they were closer to a two foot extension but they also had custom made sway/weight distribution bars that ran between the truck frame and trailer. They hauled a stock trailer with two horses all over Michigan, Ohio and Kentucky and ultimately hauled it to Florida when they moved there and never had a problem. So it can be done but I wouldn't without the sway bars.
