Yesterday I spent about two hours at Leonard's at North Jackson, OH. This is where Blue Ribbon trailers are manufactured. I was with a friend who is looking for a 2H BP trailer. Blue Ribbon has a fairly new line called Twi-Lite, an aerodynamically shaped, all aluminum framed and skinned,  BP trailer constructed with the same materials, craftsmanship and engineering as their larger custom lines and GN entries.

The Blue Ribbon trailers are not among the bling and glitz crowds. To look at them, your first impression would be a mediocre response. But when you examine their construction details, and learn about the materials they use, and realise that almost any option you want can be fabricated and installed, your impression will quickly change. I'm not into twinkle lights and fireplaces. The quality of the trailer's structure is what impresses me, not the colour of curtains.

We looked at many trailer brands yesterday at four different dealers. We saw some good trailers and some not so. If I were in the market for a new trailer, with needs for specific features, Blue Ribbon would be one of my first choices. As a result of our visit, my friend is considering one of their in stock builds for her purchase, over the many other brands we viewed.

If you get a chance to see any of the Blue Ribbon or Twi-Lite lines, and want a well constructed unit, it will be worth your time to carefully inspect their fabrication.

No, I do not work for them or sell their products. As you can tell, with my limited knowledge, I have found their trailers to be most impressive of construction details. It is one brand of which I would recommend.

As an aside, my friend has had a Brenderup for a couple of years. She is tired of the lack of interior space, load capacity, and one of her horses doesn't transport easily in her trailer. The various lines of trailers we looked at yesterday, were all significantly less expensive than her present trailer's initial cost, had dressing rooms, slant loads, drop windows, more visability and ventillation, higher load factors and were of an all aluminum construction.

Whilst the Brenderup is well built and commands a great deal of respect, it greatly lacks many of the creature comforts that many American manufactures can provide, at a much lower cost. Perhaps this is why they've gone out of business. They have a specific market, and appeal to an enthusiastic group. Her's will be for sale soon.
