Looking at a couple trailers that have collapsible rear tacks, but the post between it and horse door are solid. Anyone ever made one of those posts removable? How difficult, what did it take?Yes, I'd rather find a trailer in my price range and needs that already had that, but they seem to be few and far between and non-existent at the moment :)Thanks

Just a thought- you might look again at that rear post very carefully. Virtually every folding rear tack I've seen had a post that was removable also.

If it really isn't, a fabricator would not have any troubles making it remavable. Depending on the trailer will determine what kind of a job it turns in to.

Interesting, thanks. I haven't seen either in person yet, the older S&H and the older Sooner. I sure hope they ARE.What would one have to do if they weren't? Just cut them, and add some sort of bolting ability to top and bottom?

Many manufacturers use spring loaded pins that fit into the trailer's frame. It shouldn't be difficult to replicate that feature if they're not installed.
