I'm hoping for some help, my brother in law was killed in an ATV accident this past October.  I'm trying to help his wife with all the paperwork involved, but I'm not a horse person, so I don't have a clue what anything is worth.  She has a 1991 Sooner 4 horse trailer, Dynasty model, with living quarters in front.  This is a goose neck.  I'm trying to determine what a fair value would be if she decides to sell this.  The trailer has been stored in a machine shed, and looks to me to be in great shape.  Any help here would be appreciated ,or if you could steer me to someone who may help me.

Thanks!

My condolences for your loss.

In the for sale section of HTW are 50 4H Sooner trailers with LQs. The oldest listed is about a 1995. On any trailer over 10 years of age, its value is generally determined by its options and condition.

The size of the LQ is important to know, and the specific condition of the interior, body and frame. Knowing if all the accessories are functioning would be beneficial in your sales efforts.

A few hours cleaning things up can greatly improve its value. First impressions are a strong selling point, and most potential buyers first head into the interior.

Sooner has a good reputation, and should bring a fair price. If you check the listings, you will see pricing from ~15$ K and up. Again, the size of the LQ, its accessories and the trailer's overall condition will all determine its value. An older trailer, well maintained and in excellent condition, is more valuable than a newer, poorly maintained trailer. An all aluminum trailer in good shape holds its value very well.

The Dynasty will be a FRP (fiberglass reinforced plywood) trailer. The value can vary very much by everything already mentioned, but also by any potential delamination.
